Every card gets an upgrade
Between October 7 and 10 every card in The Lien's wanderer pool gained a camp upgrade, 87 in three batches plus two for the quest rewards. Tuning under the old "enemies undertuned" issue was split into four, and one enemy went from 9 to 11 to 13 attack with no run played at 13.
Written up later from the repo's history and dated to the days it describes.
A camp in The Lien lets the wanderer upgrade a card, but until this week most cards had no upgrade to pick. On October 10 three batches landed within hours of each other. Thirty neutral cards, 24 Blues cards and the remaining 33 pool cards each got an upgraded variant. Two more followed for the quest-reward cards, Bag by Bag and High Ground, which were tracked separately as #442.
Playing the upgrades, not just reading them
Data is easy to add and hard to trust, so the work came with scenarios the operator could drive. rest-flagged-upgrades puts a run at a camp with the flagged upgrades on offer, and upgrades-battle plays them in a fight. The smoke ledger records each one as passed by hand, along with a camp with no upgrades available and an upgraded card in a real run. The Rest scenarios themselves needed a fix after the upgrade pass, which is the sort of thing a scenario is for.
One real rule came out of it. A combo can name a card, and an upgraded card was not counting as the card it came from. The Response and Call+ pair showed it. The fix, tracked as #454, makes an upgraded card satisfy a combo that names its base.
Under-tuned enemies, split into four
The old tuning issue, #106, said enemies were undertuned. On October 10 it was closed and split into four. #439 covers the Rail Drifter being soft and the Gaunt Preacher being inconsistent. #440 is deck size, #442 is upgrades for Argos, signatures and quest cards, and #444 is a re-read of the Twelve Bar.
The attack numbers moved in small steps. The Contractor went from 10 to 13 on October 7. The Gaunt Preacher went from 10 to 13 on October 9, and the ledger records that one as passed by hand. The Rail Drifter's plain attack went from 9 to 11 and then to 13 on October 10, and the roadmap is plain about the weak point: no run has been played at 13. Bag by Bag moved from Uncommon to Rare on October 7. Argos's Block values were halved. A script that reads playtest transcripts had been double-counting Block, and that was fixed too (#433).
The base deck changed in the same window (#440). It is twelve cards, sixteen with a companion, and the starter gained a second Tongue Slap and Bend.
Two smaller fixes
A large hand did not stay on screen. The hand's overlap was sized against its own grown width instead of the viewport, and it now sizes against the viewport (#449). And tests that had been seeding from "the first N cards in load order" now seed from a fixed deck, so adding a card cannot quietly reshuffle what a test is checking (#443).
What the run now says
The end-of-run summary now prints what the run did, including damage, the biggest hit, the favorite card, the closest call and Argos. It also names what the run earned for good: songs, companions, favors and deeds (#258). A gauntlet's reward screen shows one total across its fights (#303).
A docs audit ran the same weekend and corrected staleness in the architecture and bestiary files and the roadmap, so what the repo says about itself matches what it does.
